Jacob Albarella & Jason Kaiser

Jake and Jay have been collaborating as co-writers since the beginning of time itself. Their first staged production Captain Jett Bettington and the Adventures on Planet Earth premiered with Theatre Jugend in 2014. After a bit of a respite from stage to work on a few short films and lay the groundwork for future projects, they were fortunate to have had staged readings of both Hooverton and their newest work Parker Pry: Private Eye presented for public feedback (Thank you Second Generation… and public). Last year, The Haunting of Hooverton Hotel was selected as a runner-up in Alleyway’s Maxim Mazumdar awards, and all other works have been adorned with a smiley-face sticker.

Jake and Jay love to tell character-driven stories that play with the audience’s expectations. Archetypes, cliches, and familiar tropes create an accessibility and familiarity, and they hope to work in enough quirks and surprises to bring you on a compelling story with characters you’ll want to take home in your pocket.

Hooverton was written in uncertain times to help cut the tension with a healthy dose of levity. It is a love-letter to the comedy that shaped the writers’ sense of humor. They hope the audience has as much fun as they did writing it.

Special thanks to all the actors, readers, and theatre-goers who offered their help, support, and feedback of this show as it was molded into what you see today.
